The United States Pharmacopeia – Ghana (formerly CePAT) was established in 2012. In reference to its corporate mission to improve global health through public standards and related programs that help ensure the quality, safety, and benefit of medicines and foods, USP-Ghana has been offering technical assistance, lab strengthening and capacity building (training) to NQCLs in countries across Africa.
USP Ghana is a regional leader in the provision of training and technical assistance to professionals in pharmaceutical regulation, manufacturing, and supply chain integrity in Africa. USP-Ghana provides training and capability building services in quality control, good manufacturing practices (GMP), and regulatory systems strengthening for the pharmaceutical sector. USP-Ghana’s training laboratory provides the ideal setting for hands-on quality control training. Since inception, USP-Ghana has trained more than 1,300 regulatory and pharmaceutical manufacturing professionals from 45 African countries.
